Sokcho Hangari Mulhoe

FAQ

Do I need to speak Korean to order?

Not at all. Our table ordering kiosks support multiple languages, and this website’s menu page lists every dish with its Korean name so you can simply point.

Is mulhoe very spicy?

It is on the spicy side — not a mild dish — but it won’t hurt your tongue. Sweet-and-tangy comes first, with warmth arriving gently behind it, and most guests handle it well. If you avoid spice entirely, try the abalone porridge, sea urchin rice or stuffed squid — they are not spicy at all.

Is there something for kids?

Yes — a mild kids’ abalone porridge (8,000 KRW), plus non-spicy dishes like stuffed squid and crab bibimbap. High chairs and group tables are available.

Does it contain raw seafood? I have allergies.

Most dishes use raw or lightly cooked seafood. Please tell our staff about any allergy before ordering — we will help you choose.

Do you take reservations?

Yes, by phone (+82-33-635-4488). For groups, please call 3–7 days ahead.

Is there parking?

Yes — a very large free car park of our own. Set your navigation to “속초해변” (Sokcho Beach); we are right beside the Sokcho Beach public parking lot. Without a car, we are a 3-minute walk from the express bus terminal.

What are your hours?

Mon–Fri and Sun 9:00 AM – 8:50 PM (last order 8:00 PM); Saturdays until 9:20 PM (last order 8:30 PM). Hours change seasonally — call ahead to be sure.

Can I get takeout?

Yes. Fish, vegetables and broth are packed separately so the mulhoe stays fresh. Takeout orders close 30 minutes before we do; call ahead to skip the wait.

Why are squid dishes "market price"?

Squid supply swings with the catch and closed fishing seasons, so we price it honestly by the day. Call to check today’s availability.

Can anyone go up to the rooftop deck?

Every diner can. The top-floor "Sky Stairs" deck frames Sokcho Beach and the Sokcho Eye — take a photo before you leave.

Do you host groups or events?

Yes — the third floor is a large event hall. Please call ahead so we can prepare tables and dishes for your group.

Is there a second location or a franchise?

No. Sokcho Hangari Mulhoe operates from one address only: 11 Haeoreum-ro 188beon-gil, in front of Sokcho Beach. We do not franchise, we have no branches, and we do not supply our broth or seasoning to any other restaurant. The calligraphy and the red seal on our sign and our bowls are a registered trademark (no. 40-1724558).
